In the IPL 2023 playoffs, how can Virat Kohli’s RCB and Gautam Gambhir’s LSG meet again?

The victory of the Delhi Capitals (DC) over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Wednesday night has enabled the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to meet again in the IPL 2023. However, for that to happen again, RCB must win both of its remaining games, beginning with Thursday’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

RCB presently sits fifth in the IPL 2023 Points Table. So far, they have played 12 games and gained 12 points. If they win their final two games against SRH and Gujarat Titans, they will have 16 points and will be able to make the playoffs. Krunal Pandya’s Lucknow squad must lose their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders in order for a playoff game between RCB and LSG to take place.

Aside from that, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings must win their final game against the Delhi Capitals on Saturday, while SRH must defeat the Mumbai Indians this weekend at the Wankhede Stadium. If all of these things occur, fans can expect another exciting ‘do-or-die’ Eliminator bout next week.

The previous encounter between RCB and LSG ended in an off-field brawl between RCB batter Virat Kohli and Lucknow coach Gautam Gambhir. Kohli, Gambhir, and LSG spinner Naveen-ul-haq were all penalised 100% of their match money following the match. Match fees for Naveen-ul-haq have also been reduced by 50%.

They had a brawl ten years ago in Bengaluru during an IPL game between RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders. Kohli became a batsman for RCB after Faf du Plessis took over as captain in 2022. Gambhir is now retired and works as a worldwide mentor for KL Rahul’s LSG.

As the players shook hands after the game, it appeared that LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq and Kohli exchanged words. Then Gambhir drew his team’s first batter, Kyle Mayers, away from Kohli so he could speak with him.

After that, everything went mad, as Gambhir was seen charging at Kohli while his teammates tried to hold him back, including the injured captain KL Rahul and Amit Mishra. Kohli was spotted trying to calm Gambhir down while they were battling. Instead of cooling down, the situation worsened until Amit Mishra arrived and broke them up.
