Pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been released from the India squad for the upcoming Delhi Test, all set to begin on 17 February.

This decision was taken by the All-India Senior Selection Committee in consultation with the Indian team management.

Unadkat will now join the Saurashtra team, which has qualified for the Ranji Trophy final against Bengal, set to be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Saurashtra defeated Karnataka by four wickets in Bengaluru in the Ranji semi-finals to qualify for the final.

The left-arm seamer is the Saurashtra captain and led them in a successful Ranji campaign during the 2019/20 season. Incidentally, that final too was played against Bengal.

India won the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by innings and 132 runs.

Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj, and Umesh Yadav are the remaining pacers in the India squad.
