Big India Star, according to sources, is returning home from the West Indies for this reason.

Mumbai Indians IPL 2023 Team list

India’s premier pacer Mohammed Siraj has returned home after being rested for the three-match ODI series against the West Indies. The spinner flew back with Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, KS Bharat, and Navdeep Saini, the other Test returnees. Siraj was expected to lead a pace attack that included all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Jaydev Unadkat, Shardul Thakur, Mukesh, and Umran Malik, with Mohammed Shami resting.

However, because to his workload, the BCCI chose to rest Siraj from the ODI portion of the West Indies tour, according to ESPNcricinfo.

From the end of August to the middle of September, India will compete in the Asia Cup, followed by a three-game home series against Australia in September, during a frantic period leading up to the domestic ODI World Cup in October.

Siraj, who was not named to the T20I squad for the Caribbean tour, took seven wickets in the two Tests, including a five-for in the first innings on a flat Port-of-Spain court on the fourth morning to precipitate a batting collapse for West Indies.

Siraj’s last ODI came against Australia at home in March 2022. He finished the series with five wickets, the most for India and the second most in the series. Siraj has the most ODI wickets (43) by an Indian bowler since the start of 2022.
