Richa Ghosh, a wicketkeeper-batsman, has been omitted from the India Women squads for the impending tour of Bangladesh. The uncapped Uma Chetry has replaced Ghosh in both the ODI and T20I combinations. Recently, Chetry was selected to the India A squad for the Emerging Asia Cup.
In addition to Ghosh, Renuka Singh, a fast bowler, has been omitted from the 18-man squad, with the selectors electing to include three more uncapped players. Anusha Bareddy and Rashi Kanojiya were selected alongside Minnu Mani, who had recently played for Delhi Capitals in the inaugural WPL.
Monica Patel, who played two ODIs against South Africa in 2021, has been recalled, while Priya Punia, who last appeared in the same series, has also been reinstated. The all-rounder Sneh Rana, who replaced Pooja Vastrakar in the T20 World Cup earlier this year, has been omitted from the T20I squad but retained her position in the ODI lineup.
Shikha Pandey, who had been recalled for the T20 World Cup in South Africa, has been omitted once more.
The tour begins on July 9 with three Twenty20 Internationals at Mirpur, followed by three One-Day Internationals at the same venue. The final episode will air on July 22.
