“Forever Regret”: An Ex India Cricketer On Sandeep Sharma’s No-Ball Mistake

Sandeep Sharma’s no-ball cost Rajasthan Royals the game, as Abdul Samad scored a six off the final delivery for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The IPL 2023 continued to deliver jaw-dropping moments. Due to a no-ball, pacer Sandeep Sharma was forced to re-bowl the match’s final delivery on Sunday night, quickly turning the Rajasthan Royals’ jubilation into misery. The final ball of the game was subsequently smashed for a six by Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Abdul Samad, giving his team a six-wicket victory. While it was a remarkable triumph for SRH, it was a moment of pure regret for RR’s Sandeep that he may never forget.

Former India and Chennai Super Kings speed bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji feels Sandeep would never forget this occasion. After the game, Balaji told Star Sports that the experienced pacer will ‘forever’ regret this point in his career.

“Recalling Sandeep’s final over against CSK, he was able to win the game with three balls remaining.” He got a second chance here, but the lack of a ball cost him. He maintained his cool and kept things simple until the final ball was bowled.

“For a brief moment, he thought the game was over, but the sound of the siren was discouraging.” He’ll live to repent tossing a no-ball. “This particular delivery will undoubtedly linger in his mind,” Balaji stated after the game to Star Sports.

Balaji singled out SRH batsman Glenn Phillips, who scored 25 runs off seven balls to put his team in the hunt from what appeared to be an impossible position.

“I thought Glenn Phillips was the type of player who could challenge the bowlers.” When chasing a high total, SRH will almost certainly chose to remove Phillips in the final three overs. “He made an outstanding connection with the ball, and I’m confident that gave the Sunrisers’ batting order hope,” Balaji added.

With the win, SRH has maintained their playoff position, but they must win the bulk of their remaining league games if they are to finish in the top four.
