Complete List of Records Broken During Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2023 Final Victory Over Gujarat Titans

Chennai Super Kings won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 title on Tuesday, defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets (DLS) in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. CSK won a record-equaling fifth title under MS Dhoni’s leadership, making them the competition’s joint most successful franchise. With 10 runs needed off the final two balls, Ravindra Jadeja finished the game in style.

A look at the records set during the IPL 2023 season.

Chennai Super Kings become the tournament’s equal most successful franchise with five titles. With seven trophies, they are tied for second in T20 competitions with Mumbai Indians and Titans (South Africa), one less behind Sialkot Stallions (8).

MS Dhoni is also the IPL’s joint most successful captain, having won five trophies. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is the only other cricketer to have won five IPL titles.

Ambati Rayudu won his sixth IPL title, tying him for the most by any player alongside Rohit Sharma.

This is the first time that three bowlers from the same squad have finished in the top three on the purple cap list: Mohammed Shami (28), Rashid Khan (27), and Mohit Sharma (27).

The Gujarat Titans’ (214/4) score against CSK was the greatest by any team in a T20 tournament final that they lost. Previously, in the 2016 IPL final, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 200/7 but were defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight runs.

MS Dhoni also played in the Indian Premier League for the 250th time. He is the first person in the sport’s history to accomplish this feat.
